I smoked pot and I turned out fine...
This was the title of the newsletter that just came out from the Boulder Valley School District. I can't help it...I found it both sad and hilarious. The newsletter was directed at parents and was a whole article on why they shouldn't let their children smoke pot just because they did. It was sad that the whole argument was based around the fact that even though they smoked pot that doesn't mean their children will turn out okay if they smoke pot. They had some really interesting facts about how damaging marijuana really is that I didn't know. I am sure you can imagine...Boulder High School has a much higher average of students that smoke pot over the national average. Maybe they should stop inviting guest speakers that encourage the students to try "all sorts of drugs and different types of sex." However, if they did that then they wouldn't be BHS...

It's like having Paul Potts all over again...
I saw this a few days ago but didn't realize at the time how big it was going to be. I was going to put it on the blog but didn't bother. When I woke up today and saw the story on CNN I thought maybe I should have and scooped CNN ;) It is like watching Paul Potts again. When I first saw the video of Paul Potts I was crying too. I love this song and I like Amanda better with blonde hair...
PS It can't be embedded from youtube but you can click the link. When I watched it it only had a few million views. It had 12 million views this morning when I went to view it and now adding it to the blog it has close to 13 million views. That is a lot of views for 2 days! Also, for a good laugh I recommend Greek Irish Dancers....
PSS John wants y'all to know that he served in the area she is from in Scotland.

Ah Seth...
Today at church Seth and I were out waiting for our friends to show up. We were going to help them get their children into church since their mother is in a wheelchair. Anyway, Seth was in quite a state...
Seth: Are you mommy?
Me: Yes, are you Seth?
Seth: No, I not Seth. I mommy.
Me: I'm mommy.
Seth: No, I mommy. You Seth.
Me: Okay, I'm Seth and you are mommy. (He smiles) I want a drink, get me a drink. I need water. I want a drink right now.
Seth: Shhhhhhh....quiet (while putting his finger to his mouth)
I think we each played our part perfectly ;)

Relief...
I know this isn't true for everyone but going to the dentist is a huge stress for me. It isn't the actual going part, it is the worry that there will be tons of problems. The boys all had their appointments today. I am relieved to tell you that everything was fine. No cavities for any boy but every single one of them had a broken tooth or chipped tooth. I just started laughing because it isn't a big stretch to imagine all the boys having broken teeth. Math just has a few chips. Josh has a cracked tooth but it is already falling out so nothing has to be done. Hy's broken tooth will have to be repaired but the dentist said it is faster than getting a cavity filled. Ah...relief....now I just have to survive my turn...

More funny conversations...
Only this conversation is from John. He was reading the last post and asked if I would rather have fraternal twins or identical twins. I said I thought fraternal twins would be fun and then he said, "So fraternal twins would make them identical..." I replied, "No, I think identical twins make them identical." :)
John: Seth, why do you always contradict everything we say...Mr. Contrarian.
Seth: I not contrarian.
PS We know contrarian isn't a real word but that is still what we call Seth...

Random....
This is very random. On Tues at young women's the leaders were talking about what we would name twins if we ever had any. I always think of girl names because those are the names I never get to think of for real. I have always wanted to have twin girls and name them Anne and Diana ;) John and I really wanted to name a girl Beth so I thought maybe if I had twin girls I could name them "Beth" and Jahnelle after an equally troublesome duo of girls I know ;) I also really like the names June and Abigail. It was fun to dream. Samuel and Henry or Ammon and Aaron are my tops for twin boys. What would you name twins?

Spring Snow Picture Fun...
It may be spring but we aren't complaining about the snow because it is still a lot of fun. This storm was one of those amazing storms where the flakes are SO big and plush and feathery. The flakes fell like a cozy blanket and it was beautiful to watch...even more fun to play in. Did I mention the warm butterscotch chip cookies and milk that we had after all our fun...
